Climbing Gunung Ledang with STMicroelectronic buddies

The legendary beauty of Mount Ophir (Gunung Ledang) has made it one of Johor's most popular attractions for hikers and birdwatchers. There two known ways of reaching the summit. One is from Sagil, a town in Johor, the other is through Asahan, Melaka. The shorter route is from Asahan. Gunung Ledang ( or Mount Ophir as it is otherwise better known ) is the most visited mountain in Malaysia. It is not peculiar to find people who has climb the mountain more than 10 times.

Iam working at STMicroelectronic around 3 months. This is the first time I do activity together with STMicroelectronic buddies - climbing Gunung Ledang. I think everybody sure hear the story about "Puteri Gunung Ledang", therefore our mission is go to find the Puteri Gunung Ledang this time. Photo above is the road that we need to passby to reach the summit.

We start to climb the mountain around 10 am and very soon all of us reach the check point number 1. There are 17 person in the trip and all of us successfully reached the check point number 1.

Walking around half an hour, we reached the check point 2. However this time, there are 2 person climb down to the mountain due to the leg pin.

Start from the check point 3, some of people's leg start pain and tired. However I still feel energetic and without looking any tired in my face.... hee hee .... VICTORY.

This animal although you can see in anywhere but Iam sure you cant see this so big one in anywhere unless you come to Gunung Ledang.

In check point 6, the name of the check point is quite weird - Gua Kambing. According tour guide, he tell us that there are a lot of "kambing" in the gua here in the long long time ago. The is the name it come from.....

Our handsome "CHIAM" inside the Gua Kambing.....

The beauty of the forest in the Gunung Ledang......

The most difficult part of the Gunug that we need to face now..... We might die at here too.... Really quite dangerous....

See how dangerous we are ...... If we do not enough energy we might fall down ....and say bye bye to the world....

Finally I reached the summit of Gunung Ledang and plug the "Jalur Gemilang " at the summit.
The most nicest photo I feel at the trip. Do you think so?

Our group photo at the summit of Gunung Ledang.

I have a very nice and very memorable climbing experience at Gunung Ledang. Hopefully One day I can be the "Putera Gunung Ledang".
